If you follow me on instagram or get my weekly email, you know that I planned a baby shower for my daughter, Nicolle…..and my soon to be granddaughter, Mazzy! It was a lot of work but so much fun planning and “crafting” for the special day!
My daughter (we call her Colie) recently moved back to California when she found out she was pregnant. She’s been a bit of a wanderer…..living in North Carolina, back to Cali and then New Orleans. I was so thankful when she decided to move back “home” to start her family! I was not only going to be gaining a grandbaby but would have my daughter back too!
I tried to keep the shower as paleo as possible with the snacks we provided. I did have some small bowls of peanuts, popcorn and pretzels and I had a Chinese Chicken Salad but used my own Orange Vinaigrette Dressing {on the blog soon} – tho, it did have some of those crunchy noodles added on top. The big hit were my twist on deviled eggs — using avocado instead of the traditional mustard and/or mayo to the yolks! The were devoured! And my son in law made these amazing juices – ‘Tropical’ and ‘Refresh’ ….from fresh fruits, cucumber and ginger. They were delicious on their own but we had a couple of “spirits” to add to them if you preferred.
Colie wanted to keep the shower theme pretty organic so we kept decorations simple and homemade. We also had fun making the guest favors, ‘Vanilla Lavender Body Scrub’. It was actually easy and we’ve both used the scrubs and really like it! So I think we’ll keep making these from time to time.
Well, that’s about it! It was a successful and fun day! Now all we’re waiting for is our little Mazzy to make her debut! I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am for someone to call me GRANDMA!
