Love living near Primal Pastures Farm! It’s located in Murrieta, CA, which is about a 2 hour drive from where I am but that’s pretty close, considering.
They had a tour/potluck to celebrate their new farm. WOW! What a great place. The property is absolutely gorgeous and I love to see the animals just roaming about in their natural environment.
The potluck itself was delish! The table was filled with food – real food! It’s so refreshing to see a table of food that you actually feel like you can take part in. Many options of paleo/clean/healthy choices which is great but on the other hand, you just want to try everything so your plate is filled to the rim and piled high!
Part of Primal Pastures story is this:
Do you know where your food comes from? Do you know what it’s fed, injected with, or what quality of life it experiences? We think you should. Our goal at Primal Pastures is to produce food that we feel good about feeding to ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren – food that is grown responsibly, sustainably, and according to nature’s brilliant design. We believe that there is a better way – a higher calling if you will – that we truly are or will become what we eat.
I appreciate everything about this! Knowing and seeing how they run their farm and treat their animals has everything to do with the nutrition we take in when we buy our meats/eggs from them. As they say in their statement, ‘we are what we eat’!
Aside from the care and passion of their farm, Bethany (wife of one of the farmers) has created an all natural skin care line called Primally Pure, that I have tried and absolutely love! The deodorant is my fave because I have tried many natural deodorants …….some have bothered me with a stinging sensation and some haven’t quite worked in terms of keeping me “odor free”! It’s been pretty pretty hot here in So Cal so this this deodorant was put to the test right away – and it passed!
It was a great day — hanging out with friends like Clare from Flame to Fork, Monica from The Movement Menu, Hima from Primal Food Pantry and Kim from Paleoshmaleo. It was fun meeting new peeps & hearing their stories as to why they became so mindful about food/nutrition…… and just hanging out in an open range with nature and animals! If you’re in So Cal, I highly suggest taking a tour. They offer them often so check out their site and find the link for their events. Oh and if you have children, take them! They will love it!
