Do you ever see something over and over again on facebook by way of an ad? This happened to me a few weeks back with some Avocado Crisps or chips. I saw the post over and over again and when I finally decided to check it out and see how these little crisps were made, I couldn’t find the darn thing! Lesson learned to save the post so I can check it out later.
Avocado Lovers Unite
That said, I had many large avocados on hand and they all seemed to ripen up at the same time. Guacamole is in full swing, as well as avocado toast but still needed to use the others up quickly before they went bad (another lesson learned – don’t buy several unripened large avocados and expect they will ripen up one at a time). Suddenly the Avocado Crisps I saw on facebook came to mind.
I hunted for the post but couldn’t find it so had to wing it. I am pleased to say, that after 2 attempts – I found a winner! These Avocado Crips are crazy easy to make and super tasty!
More Crispy Ideas
If you like the idea of making crisps or chips from different ingredients, other than the traditional flour etc, you might like these too! These Tomato Chips are equally as easy as the Avocado Crisps and pretty much give you the feeling of eating pizza!
I’m doubling up this recipe as we speak. Now that I know this recipe works, I have 2 more large avocados to use up! And these are goooooood! We are going to munch on these Avocado Crisps while catching up on our new favorite show, ‘Bosch’. Have you seen it?? We are binge watching whenever we can! The only problem with that, is that when we finish up all the past seasons, we’ll have to wait to watch the upcoming season. I hate when that happens.
Alrighty – it’s time for dinner. My hubby made ribs on the BBQ so I had the night off from cooking AND cleaning the kitchen! (love when he BBQ’s) I will be tossing in the crisps in the oven for our binge TV night. Next time you have a binge night …or game night ….or anytime you’re in the mood for a tasty “chip”, make these up and let me know what you think!
Ingredients
- 1 large ripe avocado (about 1/2 -3/4 cup)
- 1.5 cups shredded Parmesan
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°
- Mash avocado in bowl with seasonings and lemon juice. Add in shredded Parmesan and mix to combine.
- On a parchment lined baking sheet, drop dollops of mixture using a small scooper or tablespoon.
- Flatten with back of spoon into uniformed rounds (keeping them uniformed helps to cook each one evenly).
- Bake at 325° for 20-25 minutes. I checked mine at 15 minutes and kept adding 2 min as needed. It will honestly depend on how thin you’ve “smashed” your mixture down! In the end, 23 minutes for me.
- Cool on cooling rack completely and then EAT!

How should leftovers be stored?
Valerie says
Hi Cyndye!
I stored in an airtight container in my fridge. Another follower said they stored in a zip-loc bag on counter and they were fine for a few days! Thanks for asking 🙂
