These little pieces of chocolate have to be the easiest treats you’ll ever make! I’ll warn you though – the waiting is the hardest part. They need to solidify in the fridge for a bit …so be patient! Licking the spoon and fingers only teases you for what’s to come. These Dark Chocolate Bars w/Macadamia & Coconut are so much cheaper to make than the ones we found prepackaged.
My daughter found a very similar looking chocolate bar on an IG account. She showed me the package and I took note. Well, one day while shopping at Sprouts, I spotted the package! After picking it up and feeling out how many were in the package, along with the price – I opted to put them back down on the shelf! I get that you pay for high quality ingredients and convenience BUT I knew I could make them. And that’s exactly what I set out to do.
Take One!
I grabbed the ingredients for what I thought would mimic the little bars. I then created my first go at, Dark Chocolate Bars w/Macadamia & Coconut. They were good! The really were but I felt like they needed a little more chocolate because the pieces were rather thin. So round 2 happened a few days later.
I’m not gonna lie. These pieces go rather quickly in our home. Since they are a “treat”, I felt that a smaller batch was the way to go. However, we all love them – so unless I hide them, they go fast! Perhaps doubling the batch and using a bigger pan would work if you have a family that will love these as much as you!
Chocoholic?
If you’re like me, steering clear from chocolate isn’t going to happen. Thankfully I love dark chocolate so I don’t feel quite as guilty for nibbling on a treat from time to time. I’m not afraid to admit that I love dark chocolate. I think we’ve gotten past the stigma of “you can’t have this or that”, right? We should all make ‘real food’ choices most of the time. And choosing to eat something out of the “norm”, isn’t bad. It’s a choice and you need to feel confident about that choice. Stress about eating the “wrong thing” will do more damage to your body, than the actual food item.
So eat these Dark Chocolate Bars w/Macadamia & Coconut with a smile on your face and enjoy!
Notes
*Use whatever percentage of dark chocolate (or milk chocolate) that you like. The darker for me, the better – but some may not like it as dark.
