Who likes jalapeño poppers? {raise your hand!} Well, if you like jalapeño’s & bacon ….and you like to dip into things, this Jalapeño Bacon Dip is for you! It’s basically a deconstructed jalapeño popper and let me tell you – it takes much less time getting this dip together and has the added yumminess of bacon!
I have never really liked jalapeños and I was definitely the “odd man out” because everyone in my family loves them. And when it came to ordering appetizers out, they all went for the poppers! I’m not gonna lie, they looked amazing but I just wasn’t a fan of the taste.
Cream Cheese vs. Cream “Cheese” Spread
Now this recipe isn’t made with the traditional cream cheese. I use Kite Hill’s Cream “Cheese” Style Spread and it was perfect! Since finding this brand, I’ve been able to make and eat things that I haven’t eaten in many, many years. But here’s the thing – if you can eat cream cheese and not get the queezy tummy, then by all means, use that if you prefer. I am just happy that I can enjoy all the things cream cheese is usually called for by swapping it out for the almond “cheese”. It’s really good and honestly, no one in my family even detected a difference!
I also used Kite Hill Cream “Cheese” Spread for these ‘Carrot Cake Bars‘ {paleo, no bake, raw and dairy free} and they are delish! So grab a couple of these tubs if you’re wanting to try this desert too!
This dip is perfect to take along to potlucks, BBQ’s as well as setting on your coffee table when watching your favorite sports team or movie! Heck – it’s just good to munch on when you feel like munching …..that’s actually what we did and do!
What Should I Scoop This Dip Up With?
I usually scoop this dip up with Jilz Crackerz and plantain chips (both of those are our faves!!) but even cucumber rounds or mini bell peppers would be good …or any scooping food item will do! Please – let me know what you’ll be using to scoop up this dip with! I’d love to know.
